‘cause I can’t get them out of my head.  Also, I need to stipulate that I’ve never read any of the books, so all my knowledge comes from TOS, the movies, TNG & DS9.  I’ve never seen Voyager or Enterprise.

Kurt was born to a Vulcan mated pair who were living on a research station very far from Vulcan.  The station was hit by an asteroid and both of his parents were killed.  Star Fleet Engineer Burt Hummel adopted the orphaned Vulcan boy, and raised him like a human child for several years.  Kurt was 10-12 years old before he ever set foot on Vulcan and began official Vulcan training.

At his school on Vulcan, he was considered a bit of a loose canon.  He didn’t fit in, and was bullied by some of the other kids who heard he was “emotional” and “Illogical” like a human.

B’laine was born to a Vulcan father and a human mother.  His mother encouraged him to feel, and his father tried to stamp his emotions out of him.  

At school, Kurt and B’laine bonded because they were both outsiders.  They became fast friends.

When Kurt’s first Pon Farr hit, he went straight into B’laine’s arms, not having the slightest interest in any of the girls, and not having an arranged match already.  Afterward, they petitioned to mate legally, and were told it was an illogical union because it would not lead to procreation.  

They argued that women incapable of conceiving were not barred from mating—though it is rare—still, their mating was not approved.

And so the two males left Vulcan, applied to Starfleet Academy, and became legal Earth citizens.  On Earth, gay marriage was completely accepted, so they had no problems getting married.

Kurt went straight into Starfleet, but B’laine went to medical school first.  It didn’t take him long as his Vulcan education was excellent and well-rounded.  It wasn’t too long before he joined Kurt at the Academy.

Several years went by, and eventually they’re both assigned to the same vessel.  Kurt as First Officer and B’laine as the ship’s doctor.

Most of their human shipmates gossip about how weird it is that they’re married but never show any affection.  The rare person who knows stuff about Vulcan culture is like, “Are you kidding?  All the times they hold hands?  They’re practically making out in public!”

Also, I’m thinking this may take place somewhere between TOS and TNG, but I’m not entirely sure.  The other gleeks may be star fleet officers and/or civilians that Klaine interact with.

That’s all I have for now.  I don’t know if I’ll ever write actual fic for this, but if somebody wants to run with these notes and write fic or drabbles, or do art, I would have NO PROBLEM with that!!!!
